Gujarat Police helping migrant mother return to her home in Madhya Pradesh after bail is not small thing ah,especially when she had newborn baby and no family support with her.
Woman originally belongs to Alirajpur district and had migrated to Gujarat in search of employment . But things went badly wrong after she was implicated in case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,2012,along with her husband and brother-in-law.
And while all this was going on,she gave birth to baby boy during custody after difficult pregnancy and delivery . Just imagine that situation for second, newborn child,two-year-old child, and mother stuck inside custody with both of them.
After local court granted her bail, problem still did not end . Her husband and brother-in-law remained incarcerated,so there was literally no family member available to take her back home . That part feels very heavy because release on paper is one thing, but actually reaching home safely is another matter only .
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Woman was from Alirajpur district and had migrated to Gujarat for employment.
- She gave birth while in custody and was with newborn plus her two-year-old child.
- DLSA,Gujarat Police and local charitable organization helped arrange her return.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) stepped in after seeing her situation . They coordinated with jail authorities and local police so that she could travel back to native village safely, not just be left outside with two small children and no support .
Under guidance of Director General of Police K.L.N. Rao,local police arranged transport and escorted woman and her children . Two police constables also accompanied her during journey, while local charitable organization contributed to transportation.
And tbh, this is where system showed one softer side which people rarely get to see . Usually we hear only harsh stories from custody, courts and police stations, but here legal services, police and community support came together for one vulnerable mother.
When she reached her village, local police were informed so they could help reunite her with family . Her family also expressed gratitude towards DLSA and Gujarat Police, which makes sense because without this help, how was she supposed to manage?
But at same time, this story also leaves uncomfortable question behind . How many migrant women with small children are stuck in similar situations, where bail is granted, but road back home is still full of helplessness…
