With AI,automation and fast-changing jobs around,they are telling graduates to build skills that technology cannot easily replicate.
At SRM Tiruchi Arts and Science College,P. Prasad,director of HCL Tech,spoke to graduates and pushed this same point strongly . He urged them to develop unique abilities and keep themselves updated on industry trends. And honestly,that advice sounds very real in today’s job market.
He also said continuous learning and professional excellence are fundamental for successful career in this fast-evolving world . Not fancy line only,because many students are already seeing how quickly old skills become outdated.
And at Jamal Mohamed College of Teacher Education,special invitee P.M.A. Amanullah,CEO of Infocom Consultants based in Singapore,shifted focus toward teachers . He highlighted how teachers shape responsible citizens and told graduates to accept their responsibilities as future educators.
That part hits differently because teaching is not just classroom job ah . Their influence goes far beyond classroom,and sometimes one teacher changes how student thinks for life.
Few things happening across Tiruchi campuses stood out:
- A pre-incubation centre was launched at Indra Ganesan College to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
- C. Amelia Betsy,Deputy Director of MSME–India,spoke about using government schemes and mentorship for aspiring entrepreneurs.
- A.D.M . College for Women hosted AI internship program to improve soft skills for over 300 students .
But it was not only about jobs and startups . At Holy Cross College,the Research and PG Department of Botany marked World Environment Day with activities encouraging sustainable practices among students. They distributed cloth bags and seed balls,which is small step maybe,but still sends right message .
Another academic link-up also happened,with Memorandum of Understanding signed between PG and Research Department of English at Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College and GTT Foundation,Pune . Aim is collaboration and institutional cooperation,which sounds useful if it actually turns into real student benefit.
So overall,Tiruchi’s education scene is clearly trying to move toward future-ready skills,teacher responsibility,entrepreneurship,AI and sustainability all at once . Good direction for sure,but real question is whether students will get enough hands-on support after these ceremonies and programs are over…
