Flipkart Glam Up Fest 2026 was supposed to look like one big shiny beauty celebration in New Delhi, but honestly, what people are now remembering is not glam at all . Whole event got dragged online after chaotic scenes broke out during gift hamper distribution.
And this is strange part, because event had everything to look premium from outside . Over 100 brands, thousands of influencers, beauty community crowd,Bollywood names like Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, all of that at Pragati Maidan . On paper,it sounded like proper big-ticket fest.
But then videos started circulating on social media showing large crowds rushing and scrambling for hampers . There were heated arguments, pushing and complete confusion among attendees . For event branded around beauty, creativity and luxury, visuals looked totally opposite.
And tbh, this is where backlash became loud.
One major issue being discussed is hamper value of ₹6,000 . Influencers were reportedly promised hampers in exchange for social media promotions, but many later claimed they had done their part and still left without hampers because of stock shortages . Not small thing ah,especially when promotions were already posted .
Few things standing out from this mess:
- Hamper value of ₹6,000 became main talking point after influencers said they were promised hampers for promotions .
- Claims of inadequate crowd control came up after videos showed pushing, arguments and confusion.
- Debate over attendee behavior also started, with some saying focus on freebies took over actual purpose of event.
At same time, event also had launch of Flipkart's Global Luxe Beauty Store, featuring high-end brands like Calvin Klein and Gucci . Ideally, this should have been highlight people talked about . But rn,that whole launch seems overshadowed by hamper chaos only .
And honestly, this shows big gap between polished branding and ground reality . Organizers created expectations of premium experience, but many attendees say actual management during distribution did not match that image at all .
Now conversation online has shifted to who is more responsible here, event management or attendees . Crowd control should have been better,no doubt, but influencer culture around free hampers is also being questioned . Glam outside, panic inside… and nobody really knows if future events will learn from this or repeat same scene again…
