Deputy Tehsildar Assaulted During Illegal Murum Excavation Crackdown in Nashik

Key Takeaways

  • Deputy Tehsildar assaulted during enforcement action
  • Case registered against accused for obstruction
  • Challenges in enforcing environmental regulations highlighted

Not small thing ah.

This incident happened on June 20,2026 in Paregaon village, located in Nashik's Yeola taluka . Resident Deputy Tehsildar Pankaj Krishnarao Nevse had gone there after reports came about unauthorized murum excavation and transportation from local pond.

He was accompanied by Revenue Officers Santosh Athawale and Vaibhav Bhad . They reached spot and reportedly found dumper loaded with murum,so naturally they asked people present there to show documents and permits for excavation activity .

But situation did not stay normal for long . According to complaint, the persons at site,Rahul Aher and Shubham Pardeshi, could not provide valid permits and then things allegedly turned hostile.

Few things standing out clearly here:

  • Deputy Tehsildar Nevse was allegedly assaulted during operation.
  • Accused reportedly failed to show valid permits for murum excavation .
  • Yeola City Police have registered case for obstructing government work and assault.

And tbh, this is where whole issue becomes more worrying . If officials cannot even ask for documents without facing attack, then enforcement on ground becomes very risky.

As per complaint,Rahul Aher allegedly assaulted Deputy Tehsildar Nevse, causing him to fall and sustain injuries . The officials were also allegedly threatened, which shows how quickly such checks can turn dangerous when illegal activity is suspected.

Yeola City Police have now registered case against Rahul Aher and Shubham Pardeshi and investigation has started . But bigger question is about safety of revenue staff who go to such places without knowing what kind of resistance they may face .

Illegal murum excavation from pond area is not small local issue only,it affects land, water bodies and village resources over time . But when action against it leads to assault, then who exactly is going to take responsibility for protecting officials on field…
