So Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath just had this big meeting about all the new projects for Kanpur Division . And honestly,it looks like they are planning some serious development work for next financial year.
The meeting happened on June 18,2026,at HBTU campus . All the public representatives from Kanpur Nagar,Kanpur Dehat,Kannauj, and other districts were there to give their own proposals for their areas.
And this is the part I find interesting . Instead of just top-down planning, they actually asked the local leaders what their constituencies needed . This is much better way to do things ah.
Adityanath even said,“Public representatives possess a deep understanding of the geographical, social, and developmental requirements of their constituencies.” Basically saying that they know their areas best,so their suggestions should be top priority.
And tbh, this is how it should be done everywhere.
The numbers are just huge . Representatives submitted proposals for 1,374 projects which are worth around ₹11,724 crore . That is not small amount of money .
Few things standing out clearly from this meeting:
- Investment in Infrastructure — Proposals for 1,374 projects worth approximately ₹11,724 crore have been submitted by representatives from the Kanpur Division.
- Timely Execution Required — Adityanath stressed importance of completing projects within stipulated timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Accountability Measures — Strict actions will be taken against firms failing to commence work post-tender completion .
But it's not just about spending money . The CM was very clear that projects must be finished on time and with good quality . He also warned that strict action will be taken against any firms that don't start work after getting tenders. He even mentioned recovering money if public roads are damaged by anyone .
And this is not first time they are doing this . Last year, they approved 2,301 projects worth ₹5,497 crore for Kanpur Division only, and a lot of that work is already done apparently.
So many big plans and big money involved . But the real test is always in execution,if all these proposals will actually turn into good roads and services for common people…
