Wow,the political drama in West Bengal is just not stopping . Now there's a whole signature forgery case involving Trinamool Congress members,and CID is investigating everything.
So on June 2,it was confirmed that CID has filed application with Bankshal Court . They want to collect handwriting samples from three MLAs: Baharul Islam,Subhashis Das,and Arup Roy. This is happening because state Assembly secretary filed complaint about some signature problems.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable . Forgery allegations against sitting MLAs is not small thing ah.
But this whole thing seems connected to other issues inside Trinamool Congress . Just recently,two MLAs,Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha,were expelled for anti-party activities . And this happened right after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari spoke to media about this signature complaint,saying CID involvement was needed.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Signature discrepancies are under investigation,CID wants samples to check authenticity.
- Two MLAs,Banerjee and Saha,were removed from party for anti-party actions.
- This whole situation is creating serious challenges for Trinamool's leadership structure.
The background for all this seems to be political situation after May 4 election results . There was a meeting on May 6 where Mamata Banerjee was given full authority by MLAs to decide on key posts,including Leader of the Opposition.
But then,the Assembly Secretariat apparently rejected one letter signed by Abhishek Banerjee . They said proper procedure was not followed for electing parliamentary party leader . This only added more confusion to situation .
And investigation is spreading out . CID has reportedly visited the homes of other MLAs too,like Nayna Bandyopadhyay,Kunal Ghosh,and Tapas Maity as part of this inquiry.
Abhishek Banerjee was also summoned for questioning but he didn't appear,he cited health issues .
With CID now involved and so many big names being mentioned,it feels like this is more than just a simple signature mistake . So much internal drama happening at same time… you have to wonder what is actually going on inside party rn…
