Key Takeaways

  • CID investigates signature discrepancies among MLAs
  • Trinamool Congress faces internal turmoil
  • Expulsion of MLAs adds to party challenges

Okay,so West Bengal politics is getting very messy again . Now West Bengal Police's CID has officially started an inquiry into signature forgery case involving several Trinamool Congress (TMC) members. This is not small thing ah.

The whole thing started after one formal complaint was lodged at Hare Street police station . It seems there were some big inconsistencies in signatures of various TMC MLAs,which raised a lot of questions.

And now CID has approached Bankshal Court to get handwriting samples from MLAs like Baharul Islam,Subhashis Das,and Arup Roy . court has even granted this request, which shows how seriously this is being taken rn. A special five-member team led by an officer of DIG rank is handling investigation.

And honestly, this is where whole situation gets complicated .

At same time, there is lot of internal fighting happening inside Trinamool Congress . Two MLAs,Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha, were just expelled from party for so-called anti-party activities.

But timing is very interesting because their expulsion happened around same time Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari held press conference . He revealed that these two MLAs only had submitted a written complaint about signature forgery.

Few things standing out clearly in this case:

  • CID investigation initiated after complaint from two now-expelled MLAs .
  • The Assembly Secretariat later filed its own complaint based on their concerns.
  • Suvendu Adhikari himself confirmed he ordered the CID probe after issue came to his attention.

This is all happening while TMC is still dealing with fallout from election results declared on May 4 . Remember that meeting on May 6 led by Mamata Banerjee to decide leadership roles? Looks like that didn't solve all the problems, and now these discrepancies are making matters worse.

Now with CID digging into this signature scandal,it's not just about forgery anymore . It feels like a bigger power struggle inside the party is coming out into public… wonder what will happen next.
