On June 21, 2026 ,BJP Member of Legislative Council ( MLC ) C.T. Ravi said fact-finding committee is set to report on cross-voting incidents,and honestly,this is not small political matter ah.
Ravi has said committee is trying to identify 12 legislators who allegedly voted against party's stance . These suspected votes could have come from among 63 BJP MLAs and 18 Janata Dal(S) MLAs,which makes whole thing even more sensitive.
What is making BJP more tense is Ravi's claim that Congress got 12 votes more than its expected strength . So naturally,party leadership is now looking at this as cross-voting and not just some normal confusion during polls .
And Ravi's line says enough about mood inside party right now: “The truth has to come out today or tomorrow,” . That sounds less like routine statement and more like warning to people who may have gone against party line.
Few things standing out clearly in this episode:
- Fact-finding committee's report due soon,and Ravi emphasized urgency of uncovering cross-voting incidents .
- Disciplinary actions are expected after committee's findings come out.
- Accountability within party ranks has become main talking point after these 12 extra Congress votes.
Ravi also spoke about proposed oath-taking ceremony for party legislators in Dharmasthala . But he did not sound too convinced that symbolic oath-taking will solve anything . His words were,“Even if we are to assume that meeting is held in Dharmasthala and every MLA swears on oath,it will not make much of a difference,” .
And tbh,that point feels practical . If someone has already cross-voted,standing somewhere and taking oath later will not automatically fix trust issue inside party . BJP seems to be looking for actual names,actual responsibility and then actual action.
MLA Arvind Bellad also echoed similar feeling and said introspection is needed among party members over cross-voting issue . He acknowledged party discipline and possible consequences,because once legislators start ignoring party line in elections,leadership cannot just brush it aside .
But bigger question is what BJP will do after report comes . If names come out,disciplinary action may create another round of tension inside alliance numbers also . And if names do not come out clearly,then suspicion will keep floating inside party rooms only…
