So Bihar government is now trying to make some big moves with country's three new criminal laws . Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary held a high-level review meeting in Patna recently,and the focus was all on technology and justice system.
The meeting was held at Sankalp Auditorium in the Chief Minister’s residence . Main topics were the implementation of these new laws and something called the Interoperable Criminal Justice System or ICJS.
And Choudhary's main point was that using modern technology is super important now . He said it will make the whole justice system more efficient,transparent and citizen-centric which is crucial for addressing people's needs.
Basically,the CM has directed officials to properly mix technology into all the administrative and legal work . Goal is to reduce all those frustrating procedural delays and make system more responsive for everyone.
And honestly,this is where things often get stuck for common man ah,the endless waiting.
They also talked about improving coordination between different departments like police and judiciary . The idea is to make them work together more smoothly . This is all part of a plan to build more public confidence in law enforcement .
Few things standing out clearly from this meeting:
- Strengthening public awareness — campaigns to inform citizens about the Citizen Services Portal.
- Speedy trial mechanism — emphasizing timely resolution of pending criminal cases.
- Inter-departmental collaboration — enhancing coordination among government agencies for better efficiency.
Another big thing was push for the Citizen Services Portal . Officials were told to run big campaigns so people actually know about it and can use the services on digital platform.
But then they also brought in a business angle . The CM directed all District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to regularly meet with industrialists and business representatives across Bihar. This is to understand their security concerns and see how administration can help .
The goal here is pretty clear – create a secure and business-friendly environment . If businesses feel safe,they will invest more and that helps the whole state's economy and growth.
All these plans sound good,of course . Better tech,faster trials,more business-friendly policies . But the challenge is always in making it work on ground level,not just in meetings… wondering how much will actually change for people…
