This Gopalganj encounter news feels straight out of late-night crime scene only . wanted criminal,Akash Singh, who had ₹50,000 bounty on his head, was injured early Saturday morning after police operation on Thawe-Banjari bypass under Nagar police station area.
And honestly, when you read details,it does not look like small police chase ah . Police say Akash Singh has more than a dozen cases against him, including murder, attempted murder, robbery and extortion. That kind of record already tells why law enforcement was after him for some time.
According to police, the operation started after specific intelligence inputs . Special team moved to capture him and later he was taken to Nagar police station for interrogation.
During questioning,Akash Singh reportedly revealed location of weapon hidden near Thawe-Banjari bypass . But when police reached there, things suddenly turned risky. He allegedly picked up firearm and opened fire at police while trying to escape in darkness.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Akash Singh had ₹50,000 bounty on his head .
- He was shot in both legs during police retaliation .
- country-made pistol was recovered from scene.
Police say personnel were unharmed in sudden firing . Officers then fired back in self-defense,after which Akash Singh suffered gunshot wounds to both legs. He was apprehended and taken into custody after confrontation.
And tbh, this is where whole operation becomes even more serious . He was first rushed to Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment and later referred to Patna because injuries were severe.
Police also said Akash Singh had cases pending at different police stations, including Thawe,Nagar and Kuchaikot . One of those cases is also linked to alleged attack on former village Mukhiya, which makes his crime history even more concerning.
Officials from Nagar Police Station,Thawe Police Station and District Intelligence Unit (DIU) were part of this operation . It was led by Nagar Police Station In-charge Praveen Prabhakar and Thawe Police Station In-charge Vibha Kumari .
Now investigation is moving toward other people allegedly connected to Akash Singh's criminal network . But bigger question is how deep that network actually goes, and how many more names may come out from this one encounter…
