Legal proceedings in the Red Fort blast case reached a new milestone as a Delhi court took cognisance of a massive 7,500-page chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The chargesheet names 13 accused individuals linked to the November 10 vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) blast. That tragic event resulted in the deaths of 11 people and left several others with life-altering injuries. The court has scheduled the next round of proceedings for September 9, coinciding with the first day of the rescheduled UGC-NET exams.
The NIA had previously filed an initial chargesheet against 10 individuals in May, followed by a supplementary document in June that added three more names to the list of suspects.
