A devastating road accident in the early hours of September 24 has claimed the lives of two young brothers in South Mumbai. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 AM, leaving the residents of Ganesh Murti Nagar in a state of shock and mourning. The victims, identified as Sumit Satwan Valmiki, aged 22, and his younger brother Sanju Satwan Valmiki, aged 15, were residents of the Colaba locality.
According to the Mumbai Police, the brothers were traveling on a relatively new TVS Raider motorcycle along Nanabhai Moosa Marg. As they approached a stretch near the Gangotri building, the rider, Sumit Valmiki, allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle veered off the road and collided with significant force against the concrete compound wall of the building. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was left in a mangled state, and both riders were thrown off, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Despite the quick response, the injuries proved fatal. They were immediately transported to the state-run Gokuldas Tejpal (GT) Hospital, but doctors there declared them brought dead. A police officer noted that Sumit Valmiki had recently purchased the TVS Raider and was still in the process of paying off the EMIs for the vehicle.
The news of the deaths spread quickly through Ganesh Murti Nagar, where the Valmiki family resides. Neighbors described the brothers as hardworking and well-liked in the community. Sumit Valmiki was known to be a careful individual, making the sudden nature of the accident even more difficult for the family to process. The Colaba Police have registered a case and are currently examining the circumstances of the crash.
The bodies of the two brothers were handed over to the family after the completion of post-mortem formalities at GT Hospital. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the fragility of life.
