Wangchuk's hunger strike hit its 17th day on Tuesday and he is continuing demonstration organized by Cockroach Janta Party which has now maintained presence at site for 24 days straight . That is not small commitment at all .
Swara shared several images on social media praising Wangchuk for his unwavering dedication. On Instagram she wrote,"Thank you for fighting for the future of all our children." And when actor of her profile shows up personally,it does shift attention in certain way .
But beyond celebrity visits,core issue here is serious and has been serious for long time.

- Peaceful march to Parliament is planned for July 20 to mark start of Monsoon Session.

Veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah,along with writer Arundhati Roy,issued joint statement on Monday urging Wangchuk to end his fast. They called movement "a marathon,not a sprint" and stressed that his leadership will be needed for long battle ahead. They also voiced sharp criticism of government's silence regarding protesters' specific demands. Honestly,that framing makes sense — losing key voice early in such fight would be damaging for whole movement.
One moment that really stood out was Omi Vaidya's response. Famous for his role in 3 Idiots,Vaidya shared video message noting that iconic character Phunsukh Wangdu was actually inspired by Wangchuk's life. He said,"I don't want Phunsukh Wangdu to die." And somehow that line captured something that plain political statements sometimes cannot — cultural weight of what this person means to so many people across country.
Students affected by NEET-UG controversy are not just statistics. These are real families who lost years,money,preparation and faith in system they trusted. Demand for ₹1 crore compensation is coming from that pain only .
