Sunstone has officially launched the ALTA School of Technology, an AI-First Computer Science program aimed at reshaping engineering education in India. This innovative initiative was announced on February 22, 2026, and is designed to address the significant skills gap faced by the current engineering graduates. With more than 1.5 million engineers entering the workforce each year, ALTA seeks to provide students with the practical skills and knowledge required for success in AI and tech-driven roles.
The ALTA program is an evolution of the Sunstone Select initiative, which has already enrolled over 600 students since its inception in 2023. This program has validated the demand for a new-age, industry-aligned engineering education model. As stated by Ashish Munjal, Founder of ALTA and Co-Founder & CEO of Sunstone, “ALTA is the next evolution - AI-first, project-first, and future-first.”
- AI-first curriculum — Students engage in a hands-on learning experience from day one, focusing on real-world applications.
- Career integration — The program includes mock interviews and a portfolio-driven hiring approach, connecting students directly with over 1000 recruiting partners.
- Access to AI tools — Students receive free access to advanced AI tools like GPT and Claude, enhancing their learning experience.
ALTA's curriculum is not just about theoretical knowledge; it emphasizes practical experience, offering students the chance to build and deploy over 20 real projects. Graduates will leave with a robust GitHub portfolio, a significant advantage in today’s competitive job market. Additionally, students will complete a mandatory six-month internship to further enhance their industry readiness.
As admissions open for the 2026 batch, students can apply through the ALTA Scholastic Aptitude Test (A-SAT) and are eligible for scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition fees based on merit. With its unique approach to education, ALTA School of Technology aims to create a new generation of product engineers and tech innovators.
