So some big news is coming out of Hyderabad for aerospace and defence sector . Two US-based companies,Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace,have just opened a global manufacturing centre there.
And this isn't just some small partnership ah . It's multi-year,multi-million-dollar deal. They've set up this whole new manufacturing hub at Jeh's facility in Hyderabad .
Honestly,the way they are describing this setup is what is most interesting. Solestra Group's CEO Joe DeMartino basically said it's to help them make new products faster and expand their capacity . But he called it a "true extension" of their customer's own sites,not just another factory .
And this is where things get different . The idea is that clients get all benefits of having a plant in India—more capacity,lower costs,faster work—but without the usual headaches of setting up a joint venture.
They are promising full digital transparency and strong protection for intellectual property,which is always a big concern for these international companies .
Some key things they are highlighting:
- Solestra can now support much larger and more complex aerospace projects.
- The workforce at this facility will be dedicated only to the customer's standards.
- Clients get big cost advantages and things are less complicated operationally.
And tbh,this whole model sounds pretty unique .
Vishal Sanghavi,who is founder and CEO of Jeh Aerospace,said this is first model of its kind . He also stressed that it offers all the good parts of a joint venture without the difficult parts like governance and ownership issues.
So basically,it's like getting all the advantages of Indian manufacturing without the traditional business complexities . For companies,that must be a huge relief.
This could really change how foreign aerospace companies look at setting up shop in India… maybe this is the new way forward instead of building everything from scratch…
