Something quite unexpected seems to be happening inside Nationalist Congress Party right now,and honestly, the numbers being reported are hard to ignore . Maharashtra politics has never really been simple, but whatever is unfolding inside Sharad Pawar's NCP at this moment is genuinely worth paying attention to.
Reports are saying that 9 out of 10 MLAs from NCP have expressed positive stance toward aligning with National Democratic Alliance . That is not small number . That is overwhelming majority of sitting legislators apparently leaning toward NDA side, which would be massive shift for party that has historically positioned itself very differently.
This whole situation seems to have come forward after one meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan during ongoing monsoon session . MLAs were apparently asked directly about party's future direction during that gathering.
Topics reportedly discussed at that meeting included:
- Majority NDA alignment — 9 out of 10 MLAs are reportedly supportive of joining NDA.
- Development funding discussions — deliberations happened around financing for future projects .
- Election strategy for 2029 — political direction and preparation were key focus of those talks.
And one name immediately caught attention in all this . Rohit Pawar was notably absent from that meeting . No explanation seems to have come out clearly, but his absence is being noticed and people are asking questions about where exactly he stands in all this.
Jayant Patil has reportedly clarified that any final decision on NDA alignment will only happen after thorough discussions with party chief Sharad Pawar himself . So even though internal mood seems strongly tilted one way, nothing is officially decided yet .
Which honestly makes sense . Sharad Pawar is not someone who lets others define party direction without his own input.
Meanwhile Rohit Pawar has apparently been contacting multiple MLAs through phone calls, trying to understand what their actual sentiments are . Whether he is doing this independently or with some strategy behind it is not very clear right now .
Reports also suggest that Sharad Pawar may soon call full meeting with both MLAs and Members of Parliament to clarify party's official stance going forward . That gathering,if it happens, will likely decide which way NCP actually moves in this evolving situation.
Maharashtra politics has seen enough sudden realignments to know that what looks certain today can completely shift by tomorrow . And with Sharad Pawar involved, nothing is ever completely predictable until he himself speaks…
