From facing skepticism to now becoming key player in squad, this is not small thing ah.
And what stands out is how Tuchel seems genuinely convinced by him . He has praised Madueke’s consistent performances, and especially that ability to change game with pace, confidence and those one-on-one abilities.
Tuchel’s national team plan also looks very Premier League type only . Strength, speed, physical pressure, fast transitions… basically setup where player like Madueke can look dangerous because he enjoys high-paced football.
In recent match against Croatia,he showed exactly why he is getting this trust . Multiple assists to captain Kane, and not just random moments also . His four passes to Kane were most in match, which says something about connection building there .
Few things clearly stood out:
- Madueke’s four passes to Kane were the most in match.
- His partnership with Gordon looked effective and put pressure on defenses.
- Even with competition for playing time,Madueke and Saka share close friendship .
And honestly, that Gordon-Madueke wing energy looked useful because both can stretch defense and force mistakes . England need that kind of direct running sometimes, instead of just safe passing around box.
But his journey has not been fully smooth also . League appearances were limited because of competition and knee injury, yet he still managed to shine and contribute to Arsenal's success in previous season . That Champions League final performance also gave small glimpse of what he can offer at international level .
Now with England preparing for upcoming match against Ghana, and Saka sidelined,Madueke suddenly has bigger chance in front of him . This is where player either grabs spot or pressure eats him up .
And tbh, this next phase feels interesting because talent is clearly there,Tuchel’s trust is also there, but can Madueke keep proving it when expectation becomes heavier…
