So Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of Ranveer Singh over this whole Don 3 drama . And honestly,this is one pair-up I never expected to see,even in a controversy.
She was at the trailer launch for her own new film,Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,when media obviously asked her about situation . You know,about Ranveer's fallout with Farhan Akhtar and boycott call from Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).
And Kangana's reply was pure Kangana only . She said,"You are asking me, I have been banned by everybody. Aisa nahi ho sakta ki aapki haisiyat badhe aur dushman na badhein."
Which basically means when your status grows,your enemies will also grow . And tbh,she’s not wrong. It's a tough industry .
This whole thing started after FWICE apparently imposed a ban on Ranveer . They said producers complained about some losses during pre-production for film. Not small thing ah.
Few points to remember from this whole episode:
- FWICE issued non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after he exited Don 3 .
- Kangana,speaking at her own event,defended him against the ban.
- She connected his situation to her own experiences with industry bans.
And then she even shared her own example,saying "Mere sath bhi itna hua hai and look today I'm doing well. Meri bhi gaadi achi chal rahi hai. Kuch nahi hota." She's trying to tell him that these things happen and you can survive them .
It is very interesting to see her support him like this . Kangana is always seen as fighting against the system,and Ranveer is like,deep inside that system. But here she is,showing some solidarity. Maybe it shows that at end of day,artists understand other artists' problems.
But this whole situation really shows how complicated Bollywood is . One day you are on top,next day one decision can lead to industry bodies boycotting you. pressure must be immense.
Kangana's support is nice gesture for sure,but will it actually change anything for Ranveer and his equation with producers . Who knows…
