So character posters for Haiwaan just dropped on July 15,2026 and honestly, the internet is already going crazy over this one . And for good reason — Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan back together on screen after nearly two decades is not small thing at all.
Their last film together was Tashan back in 2008 . So yes, almost 18 years gap between them sharing screen space . That reunion factor alone is making people genuinely excited about this one .
The posters were first shared by Akshay Kumar on his Instagram and honestly, the visual contrast between both characters is striking right away . Like director Priyadarshan has clearly thought very carefully about how to introduce these two roles to audience.
Akshay's look is intense — thick beard, cap pulled low over his face, heavy shadows everywhere . His caption reads "Vengeance sees everything" which immediately tells you this character is carrying something very dark and unresolved inside . Complete opposite energy from what audiences usually expect from him .
And then Saif's poster hits you differently.
His is filled with soft light, gentle glow around his features . His caption says "Every sense is weapon" — which is direct nod to his character being a blind martial artist . Light versus darkness, sight versus other senses… Priyadarshan is clearly playing with heavy visual symbolism from very first look itself .
Few things from these posters worth noticing:
- Akshay's character is drenched in crimson hues across second poster, suggesting menacing and dangerous presence throughout film
- Saif's character uses earthy tones and is depicted as determined and resolute despite his disability
- Final combined poster shows silhouette of young girl holding teddy bear placed between both characters, divided by red and yellow shades
That last poster detail is genuinely interesting . Young girl with teddy bear standing between these two contrasting forces… it quietly suggests whole conflict of film might center around protecting or controlling this child in some way . Adds completely different emotional layer to what otherwise might look like standard action thriller.
Haiwaan is scheduled for September 11 release and marks yet another collaboration between Akshay and Priyadarshan following horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla . Screenplay has been co-written by Rohan Shankar and Abhilash Nair while music is being handled by Pritam.
Honestly, everything about this project feels carefully assembled . Good pairing, strong visual identity from day one, director who understands how to build tension…
But at same time, posters alone never tell full story . Plenty of films have come with stunning first looks and then delivered something completely different on screen . So whether this reunion actually lives up to that nearly two decade wait… that question is still very much open right now.
