Punjab Police officials have successfully apprehended Manjit Singh Bedi, a 65-year-old resident of Jalandhar, who was recently featured on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) most-wanted list. The accused is alleged to have been involved in a US government benefits fraud worth around $600,000 (approximately ₹5.6 crore).
Authorities believe that Bedi left the United States in April this year and reached India via Canada to evade legal proceedings.
