England just barely survived that one and honestly,I am still processing what happened on July 6,2026 . A 3-2 win against Mexico in Round of 16 sounds comfortable on paper but trust me,it was anything but that .
From start,England came out sharp and it was Jude Bellingham who set tone . He scored the opener in 15th minute and then added his second goal shortly after . Two goals from one young player in opening phase of knockout match… not small thing at all .
Harry Kane then made it three before half time,converting penalty in 35th minute . English fans must have felt very comfortable at that point . Three goals up,Mexico looking shaken,everything going to plan .
And then second half happened.
Mexico fought back with real intensity and scored two goals that made entire situation very uncomfortable again . But here is part that made this match genuinely nerve wracking — England were down to ten men during this period . One red card and suddenly whole game flipped in terms of pressure .
Few things standing out clearly from this match:

- Harry Kane converted penalty in 35th minute,extending advantage to 3-0 before Mexico responded.

Honestly,playing with ten players while opposition is pushing for equalizer is one of most stressful situations in football . England's defense had to be absolutely focused and somehow they managed to hold on till final whistle.
England now advance to quarter-finals where they will face Norway . And that matchup is going to be very different challenge from what they faced today.
Because surviving this kind of game builds something in a team… confidence,yes,but also awareness that nothing is guaranteed . Mexico pushed them right to edge and only some really determined defending kept that scoreline intact.
