Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting was called at Vidhana Soudha in Karnataka on Saturday,and main agenda is simple only — choose new leader of legislature party who will become Chief Minister.
Strong buzz is around D.K. Shivakumar ,President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC),being picked unanimously . And honestly,if that happens,it will be huge moment for his supporters because this is not just chair discussion,it is pride,loyalty and years of political waiting mixed together .
AICC General Secretaries Randeep Singh Surjewala and K.C . Venugopal are also present at meeting to oversee process . Venugopal’s line made things even more clear: “Today itself, name will be announced.” So yes,party does not look in mood to drag this suspense for too long.

- Congress MLAs are saying they will back high command’s decision.

Senior Congress MLA H.C. Balakrishna also expressed pride over Shivakumar’s possible rise,remembering late Kengal Hanumanthaiah,the last Chief Minister from their district . That district angle is not small thing ah,because politics here is also about identity and emotional connection.
MLA Nayana Motamma praised Shivakumar as political mentor,and that tells you how many younger and current leaders see him inside party . At same time,Former minister Zameer Ahmad Khan said cabinet formation discussion will come later,and stressed unity within Congress.
He also said all 137 Congress legislators,along with three Independent MLAs,would stand behind decision taken by high command . That kind of number support is exactly what party wants to show right now,especially before government formation energy starts shifting into ministry expectations.
