This NIA case from Visakhapatnam is honestly quite serious because it is not just about three people being charged . It is about alleged explosives supply,logistics support and whole support chain behind CPI-Maoist activity in Andhra Pradesh.
On May 29,2026 ,the National Investigation Agency filed charges against three operatives of CPI-Maoist in special court located in Visakhapatnam . Accused are facing allegations under various sections of IPC,the Explosive Substances Act,and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
And names coming up here are Naka Devid Raj alias Daveedu,Vijay Viswas and Sodi Kesa . According to case,Naka Devid Raj alias Daveedu and Vijay Viswas were identified as overground workers (OGWs) for CPI-Maoist,while Sodi Kesa was described as underground cadre .
Police had earlier apprehended Devid and Vijay while they were allegedly on way to deliver consignment of explosives to Sodi Kesa . That detail itself is scary because this is not small thing ah,explosives moving through local routes means risk is not limited to one place only .
Few things standing out in this case:
- NIA says trio was involved in procurement,transportation,and supply of explosives for attacks against security forces.
- Investigation initiated in September 2024 after NIA took over from local police.
- Case is also being linked to earlier Maoist assaults in Chhattisgarh,including January 2024 attack on CRPF camp .
And that January 2024 attack on CRPF camp in Chhattisgarh had injured a dozen personnel . So when investigators connect present supply network with earlier violence,it makes whole matter much more disturbing.
Tbh,overground worker angle is always uncomfortable in such cases . Because person may look like normal local contact from outside,but investigation says they were helping banned terrorist organization with movement,materials and support.
NIA has also earlier filed charges against six other individuals in related Chhattisgarh attack case . Now with these three more names,agency is trying to trace wider CPI-Maoist network and people allegedly helping from outside visible armed groups.
But bigger question still stays there . How many such supply routes,local helpers and hidden links are still active before authorities even find them…
