Heavy rainfall on Monday triggered multiple landslides along Lonavala-Karjat Ghat section in Maharashtra . And this is not small damage we are talking about — all three railway lines on that section got impacted,which basically means situation is quite severe.
Central Railway has officially announced train cancellations running until July 17 . Engineering teams are deployed around the clock trying to clear debris and restore tracks,but officials themselves have admitted that challenging working conditions and extent of damage may prolong return to normalcy.
