The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of third and fourth railway lines along the Ballari-Guntakal section — a 46 km stretch connecting Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh — with a budget of ₹1,264 crore.
The project will add 46 km network by 2028-29 connecting 99 villages and 7 lakh people. It boosts freight capacity by 16.22 MTPA. Faster trains expected to drive regional growth under Viksit Bharat vision.
