Finally some proper steps are being discussed for Andhra Pradesh tourism sector . new proposal coming from AP Chambers sounds quite practical, not just big talk.
They had a meeting recently with all big officials, including Chairman R.V. Swamy,AP Chambers president Bhaskara Rao,and even Special Chief Secretary for Tourism and Culture Ajay Jain was there .
And the main idea they are pushing is to classify tourism projects up to ₹50 crore under MSME support schemes . And honestly, this makes so much sense . It means genuine investors can actually get government help, incentives and financing much more easily. Right now, getting all that is very big headache.
They also want government to relax financial eligibility rules for investors, like turnover and net worth criteria . This is good because it will encourage more people to invest, not just the huge players.
Few other things they suggested:
- Formation of a Tourism Stakeholders Committee, which will meet every two months to solve industry problems.
- Skill development initiatives to fix shortage of trained people in hospitality sector .
- A network of 50 active travel agents to properly promote Andhra Pradesh tourism.
And tbh, this skill shortage issue is very real ah . Even Ajay Jain from the government side acknowledged it's a critical barrier for growth. You can have best hotels and resorts, but if staff is not trained, then experience for tourists is very bad.
So this focus on skill development is very important . They are talking about training programs to make sure the hospitality sector has enough good people for the job.
But it’s not just about one thing . They are trying to connect everything together. proposed Tourism Stakeholders Committee is supposed to handle all these issues and make sure problems are solved on time. It shows they are thinking about long-term solutions.
At end of day,the goal is to get more tourists into Andhra Pradesh and make it a top destination . Everyone says government is committed to this.
But all these are just proposals rn . The real test will be how quickly government actually implements these ideas on ground… not just keeping them in files…
