First batch of 4,822 pilgrims was flagged off from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp on July 2 at 5:00 AM by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha . That is not small thing at all.

According to Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar,opening convoy consisted of 259 vehicles total . Group then split into two routes — 2,510 pilgrims headed toward Pahalgam Axis in 112 vehicles,while 2,312 devotees took Baltal Axis in 147 vehicles . Two different paths,same destination,same faith.
As pilgrims moved ahead and reached Chanderkote and later Qazigund,Ramban district administration and civil society groups came out to welcome them .
